Who is behind this site
tromso-kayaking.com is run by Patrick Kühne, an independent travel publisher based in Markkleeberg near Leipzig, Germany. He builds and maintains a small portfolio of guides to attraction tickets and day tours. There is no agency and no rotating editorial team behind this site: the pages are researched, written and kept up to date by one person — the same one who answers the e-mails.
What this site does
Sea kayaking in Arctic Norway raises practical questions before it raises romantic ones: Who is allowed to join? How do I get to the water? How long am I actually paddling, and how cold will it be? We put the bookable kayak tours from Tromsø side by side and answer exactly these questions for each one — minimum age, weight and height limits, swimming requirement, transfer or public bus, group size and the time you spend on the water where the operator states it. We are not a booking agent — every reservation happens on the booking platform.
How we earn money
When you book through one of our links, the booking platform pays us a commission. Your price stays exactly the same: the commission comes out of the platform's margin, not your pocket. No contract obliges us to favour a particular operator, and our comparisons are ordered by what suits the trip, not by what pays us best.
Where our information comes from
Prices, ratings and review counts come from our booking partner's API and are refreshed automatically. Tour facts — duration, meeting points, what is included, who can join — come from the operators' product pages and are re-checked regularly. Where a product page leaves something open, we say so instead of guessing. Found something out of date? Write to us and we will correct it.
What we are not
We do not run any kayak tours and we are not affiliated with any operator mentioned on this site. They run the tours; we describe them. For binding information — cancellations, weather calls, schedule changes — the operator's own channels always take precedence.
